"Project Farmhouse" and abusing the use of ellipses...

                                                           Good Morning all!
                             It's a fine Thursday we're having here in middle America :)

Well, this is my very first post... the first post in what will undoubtedly become the story of a never ending, torrid love affair with this journey my family and I are embarking upon....
                                          
                             We're building our DREAM farmhouse!  FINALLY!  ....by ourselves...
                  

                                        ............crazy you say? IT CAN'T BE DONE?!...........

                                ............I mean, maybe, it's not completed yet.....ehehe he ehhhh.....

Anyways, ok, fine, we are getting a little help from professional framers and "foundation guys" as I have come to call them, simply because we know that doing those two particular tasks ourselves could result in this home not being completed until our girls graduate highschool college....SOOOO, yes, we hired out a few things, but for the majority of the project, it will be our own hands building, hammering, spackeling, nailing, painting, tiling, grouting, retaining walling, footing pouring, yadda yadda yadda, you get it.  My husband is the main builder in this project, but don't get me wrong, I will definitely be supervising "Project Farmhouse" like a champ ;)  I mean afterall, a little "backseat driving" never bothered anyone, right??

                                                   .............. *crickets*...................

                             ............*a faint cough coming from the mezzanine*..........

Anyways, while my husband is hammering and running water lines and running electrical wire in the "guts" of the house, I'll be doing my best to score the deals of the century in my attempt to make this 2800 sq ft beauty look like the love child of Pottery Barn and Martha Stewart.  Well, her design line that is, not Martha herself... errr, anyways...awkward... Martha, if you're reading this, I apologize for that uncomfortable image.  Moving on..

I've already got some awesome finds to rave about, some projects to share (I used a drill, successfully!) , some yummy recipes from nights that we just HAD to take a break from working on the farmhouse before we burnt the damn thing down in order to catch up on sleep, as well as some lovely pictures to post and fully detailed tutorials on how all my feats of awesomeness were pulled off, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! *wide eyed, and in a halfway bow, waves hand towards the back curtain*
           
                  ................well I have to upload the posts first, so, hold that thought ;)...............
